About Llyn Gwynant Barns
The Llyn Gwynant Barns are imposing Grade II listed stone buildings beside the beautiful lake Llyn Gwynant, in stunning natural surroundings. Three main adjoining barns are in the complex: the Big barn, the Tall barn (with sleeping platforms) and Kitchen barn with heated modern washrooms in the centre. Private terraces and beautiful fields surround the barns, and run down to the lake shore. The fields can be used for guests to camp or for 'glamping' at a festival style wedding, or for a reception with breath-taking views in our elegant pagoda marquees.
The Big barn is a wonderful large room with a high slate roof and exposed beams. Tall oak windows line one side of the barns and bifold doors open up to a slate terrace overlooking the lake. The room is licensed for weddings and is the perfect place for your ceremony with a stage at one end and room for seating 150 people. Celebrate in your own style by decorating the barns as you wish and choosing the tables and chairs to suit you.
Our experienced Barns staff are available to assist with furniture moving/room changes and other tasks including setting up the sound system and lights. The barn is wonderful for all kind of dancing, including ceilidhs and barn dances. Sound levels are monitored by staff and bands/DJs must finish by 1am but the music can continue at a lower level from playlists until the small hours if you wish.
The bar is open on both days of your hire and is very reasonably priced. Couples who want to provide some of the drinks for their guests can create their own bespoke drinks package on a 'by the glass' basis.

What is the cost of hiring your venue?
Standard 2 day midweek/low season hire (March/October) in 2021/22 is £4000, standard 2 day weekend is £4500 and includes up to 150 people. Additional days are £300 for up to 25 people.
What is the capacity of your venue?
Up to 150 are included in the standard hire, 160 maximum at a small extra cost
What are the dining options?
The wedding breakfast can be as formal or informal as you like. Choose from our list of approved caterers who offer a wide range of menus and meals at a budget to suit you. Our well equipped commercial kitchen can be used by our approved caterers or you and your guests to self cater all or part of your weekend stay. Non-approved caterers can usually be accepted if they can operate in a trailer or vehicle outside the buildings - street food or festival type catering stalls, BBQs/hog roasts, pizza ovens, ice cream vans are all options for catering. The Big barn can hold around 140 people around tables, more with a less formal or buffet style arrangement.
Do you have parking?
Parking is available in the Barn yard and in our overflow parking area, two minutes walk away down the lane. In total there is space for around 40 cars, plus space for 2 small caravans or 3/4 small camper vans at the top of the camping field.
Do you allow pets?
Well behaved dogs are allowed on the site, provided they are kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not permitted inside the buildings, though sometimes we can make an exception for the ceremony.
Do you have a noise limiter installed?
Sound levels depend on weather conditions on the day. We don't have a sound limiter but couples must agree to our T&Cs surrounding noise and time limits (1am finish for DJs and/or bands)
